General Carbon 60 Questions
What is C60?
“C60” is short for Carbon 60, a molecule found in nature and considered to be one of the most powerful antioxidants known.
What is C60 good for?
C60 is a powerful antioxidant that lifts the oxidative burden at the cellular level. This allows the mitochondria to function more efficiently, enhancing energy production in the cells. C60 is good for humans and their pets.
Why do people take C60?
People use C60 to support their overall well-being in many ways. C60 works at the cellular level to lift the oxidative burden while neutralizing free radicals. Many people are interested in C60’s ability to help optimize mitochondrial function, and its ability to promote a balanced immune response. People who are noticing age-related memory loss appreciate C60, especially for its ability to help promote energy and mental clarity. Many athletes note benefits to performance and decreased recovery times. C60 may promote skin vitality and hair growth and may lessen the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles when applied topically. People also use C60 for their pets to support longevity, a healthy immune response, and overall wellness.
Will C60 oil affect my medication?
C60 doesn’t interact with any medications, supplements, or vitamins. If you are taking blood thinners, we recommend you work with your healthcare provider to ensure your blood doesn't become too thin. Do not take C60 if you are pregnant or nursing. If you have any questions about C60, please address these with your healthcare provider.
Who should not use C60?
Do not use C60 if you are pregnant or nursing. Contact your healthcare provider if you are using blood thinners to ensure your blood does not become too thin. Please contact your healthcare provider with any questions.
Does C60 have a stimulating effect?
We recommend consuming C60 as part of your morning routine as some people do report that it has an energizing effect.
Is C60 good for your skin?
In a 2010 human study, C60 was found to lessen the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Additional studies have found that C60 was effective at protecting skin from UV damage, even after sun exposure. C60 may be applied topically. We recommend C60 in avocado oil for topical use.
How much C60 should you take?
The effective dose of C60 depends on several variables, namely age, weight, and state of overall health. The good news is that there is no danger of toxicity3, but taking more than is needed may have a stimulatory effect similar to caffeine. Most people require between 1-3 teaspoons (3 teaspoons = 1 tablespoon) a day, taken in the morning. For example, a person under 45, below 160 pounds, and in good health will likely only require 1 tsp. a day. However, someone who is older, weighs more, or is looking to address a specific challenge, may require up to a tablespoon daily in order to see results.
Is C60 safe to take?
Yes, as long as you choose a quality C60 product. Pure C60 is worth more than its weight in gold, making real C60 products more expensive than cheap knockoffs. Actual C60 that is safe for consumption must be whole molecules of C60 dissolved in oil, preferably in healthy, organic oils. (We do not recommend consuming any sunflower oil or other seed oils as they are known to cause inflammation). The oil should have a purple (or amber, if the carrier oil is not clear) color to it. Anything that is black is not true C60, and C60 is not the same thing as activated charcoal. It’s also worth noting that the safest C60 is manufactured using a process called sublimation, and not created using toxic solvents like toluene (also called the “oven-baked method”). Solvent-based C60 will never be entirely free from the chemicals used to create it, while sublimation, similar to evaporation, uses no harmful substances.

Organic MCT Coconut oil is preferred by those with glucose imbalance issues and athletes for extra energy.
How is C60 made?
There are two main ways to create raw C60. One method uses rods of elemental carbon vaporized by electricity in a Helium atmosphere. This method imitates the way C60 is made in the atmospheres of giant red stars, as their atmospheres are being blown out into space. The other method uses a hydrocarbon wax and heat source, in a combustion based method. This method imitates the process by which the blacked wick at the end of a candle ends up containing around 0.25% C60.
Does C60 Purple Power contain solvents?
No, C60 Purple Power uses a purification process known as sublimation which does not involve the use of solvents ever.
How much C60 is contained in a bottle?
A 16 oz bottle of C60 on Avocado or Olive Oil has around 379 mg of C60 in it. An 8 oz bottle of C60 in Avocado or Olive Oil contains around 189 mg of C60. A 4 oz bottle of C60 in Avocado or Olive Oil contains around 95 mg of C60. MCT Coconut Oil has shorter chained triglycerides and hold a bit less than half the C60 that Avocado and Olive Oil carriers do.
What type of bottle do you use to package your product?
We use amber glass bottles for all of our products.
